Science Essay-2017: Announcing the Competition Results

We are happy to announce the winners of the Science Essay Competition 2017 ‘SCIENCE: PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE’ initiated by the Russian Writing Centers Consortium and carried out with the support of the English Language Office, US Department of State.

On the basis of a double–blind review procedure, American tutors have chosen three best papers.

The first place is awarded  to Maria Tonkova for the essay “Off-Grid Energy Future”.

The second place goes to Maxim Volokitin for his essay “Are Translators Bound to Disappear”.

Andrey Parfyonov received the third place for the essay “The Future of Cancer Treatment: Venom As A Weapon Against Tumors“.

We would also like to thank all the participants for taking part in the contest.
They will be all awarded Certificates of Participation.
We thank the tutors of American writing centers for their enthusiasm, time, and effort that helped us ensure the objective evaluation of the essays.
We also want to express our deep gratitude to English Language Office, US Department of State, for its continued support and encouragement to the Russian Writing Centers Consortium that initiated the contest.
