Year after year Russian journals are becoming more prominent in the international scientific and information environment. Number of publications by Russian authors in Web of Science and Scopus international scientometric databases is growing both due to the increase in the number of articles in leading international journals and other kinds of titles, as well as due to the increase in the number of Russian journals in these databases.The international conference is held for the 6th time. It is one of the main sources of information for all participants of the scientific and publishing process about the development of the appropriate publishing policies aimed at complying with international standards as well as promoting publications and titles in the international scientific community.
The conference brings together all participants of the publishing process (editors, reviewers, publishers, founders, authors) and invites Russian and foreign experts as speakers, who will present their opinion on topics, which are important for the Russian scientific community. The following topics are currently of importance to the Russian scientific community:
– Searching for solutions to pressing problems, which stand in the way of achieving healthy competition for Russian publications in the international environment;
– International ethical standards as the basis for maintaining integrity of publications;
– Development and implementation of the correct editorial policy;
– Use of the best international practices related to editing and publishing scientific journals and other titles in the Russian environment;
– Editorial preparation of a scientific journal in accordance with international standards;
– Organization of the editorial and publishing process, including introduction of new software and modern information technologies into the activities of editors and publishers;
– Properly-organized review process;
– Effective business models for publication of scientific journals;
– Pros and cons of open access;
– Creation of archival repositories of scientific information;
– Promotion of scientific journals in the international research community; position of Russian journals in Web of Science and Scopus international scientometric databases;
– Improvement of a national resource called Russian Science Citation Index on Web of Science international platform;
– Use of scientometric databases as a quality assessment tool for publications and titles;
– Creation of relevant electronic resources to help editors and publishers of scientific publications;
– Organization of a training process for professionals in the field of editing and publishing;
– Regulatory and procedural framework to support editorial and publishing activities in the scientific sphere;
– Activities and professional development of the research publishing community, experience of Russian and foreign industry associations and other organizations;
– Other aspects related to the organization of a publication process.
In the run-up to the conference, on April 17, 2017, there will be an educational research and practice seminar titled “Recommendations of CSAB Scopus experts and editors from Elsevier for editors and publishers from Russia and the CIS countries”. The international conference will end on April 21, 2017 with the Annual general meeting of ASEP members. Registration for the Annual general meeting for ASEP members is open here
We would like to invite heads of Russian ministries and agencies, Russian and foreign editors, heads of journals published by the leading publishers (Elsevier, Springer, OUP, etc.), creators and managers of Web of Science/Scopus international scientometric databases and other electronic platforms, representatives of international associations of editors and publishers of scientific journals, ethical committees, and other representatives of scientific and publishing community to participate as a speaker of the conference.
Working language of the conference:: Russian, English (simultaneous translation).
ASEP members, other Russian publishers and publishing organizations, foreign publishers and associations are invited to participate in the organization of the conference and to provide sponsor support.

In order to do so, please submit an application and provide your abstract or full version of your report for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
The organizing committee has the right to reject reports that do not match the subject and the level of the conference.
Proceedings of the conference containing the submitted reports will be published and available (just like the proceedings of previous conferences) in Russian Science Citation Index and published on elibrary.ru.
