During the Second International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization the participants had the opportunity to visit NUST MISiS Academic Writing Center and get acquainted with its activity.
“One of the most important goals for National University of Science and Technology MISiS is to help young researchers develop their ability to write well into the high-impact scientific journals to increase the university publication outcomes.
There are only six writing centers in Russian universities, and four of them are members of the Academic Excellence Project 5-100”, said Alevtina Chernikova, Rector of NUST MISiS.
Despite the fact that the center started its activity in March 2015, the official opening took place on November 25th. The opening ceremony was dedicated to the Second International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI.
More than 70 colleagues were engaged in the event. The program featured international speakers, panel discussions, master-classes, workshops, poster sessions, and tours to the Academic Writing Center. Elena Bazanova, Director of the AWUC told the conference participants about the center in more detail and presented its achievements.
