Scientific Seminars: «Researcher Connect»

The full 3-Day scientific seminars will take place at NUST «MISIS».

Dr. Martin Penny
Dr. Martin Penny

The Lecturer Dr Martin Penny is a trainer with over 15 years of experience of working with PhD and postdoc researchers in developing their communication, team working, leadership, and career development skills. He has extensive experience working as a trainer with the UK Research Councils’ Vitae Programme and the British Council Researcher Connect Programme, as well as with individual universities in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Martin’s principal work is in scientific management and administration. He is currently the Head of Unit for Physical Sciences and Engineering in the Executive Agency of the European Research Council (ERCEA), within the European Commission. He has held a variety of other roles within the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation in the European Commission, including political assistant to the Director-General, international cooperation policy officer and policy analyst. Prior to joining the European Commission, Martin worked for eight years for the UK Research Councils in Swindon and Brussels, including over four years as the Director of the UK Research Office, the Research Councils’ office in Brussels. Martin has a PhD in organic chemistry and an MSc in science communication and science and society issues and has held postdoctoral research positions at universities in the UK, US and Belgium.
