The 15th Winter Methodology School in Novosibirsk

The magic time of the 15th Winter Methodology School (January 30 – 31, 2019) flew like a short beautiful moment having left an unforgettable atmosphere of creativity, joy, happiness, friendliness, devotion to the pedagogical vocation and professionalism.

“Raising the Awareness of Building up Succesful Strategies in Learning and Teaching English” Conference.

The territorial professional group “Novelty” was founded at the Foreign Languages Department for Engineering Faculties at Novosibirsk State Technical University on November 10th, 2016. Teaching ESP is the key sphere of interest. Thus, the goal of the TPG “Novelty” is the provision of the conditions for the professional growth of all teachers and educators who deal with the English language at any level of training. To fulfill the goal of Novosibirsk region teachers’ involvement in various local, state, and international projects Novelty members cooperate with the educational organizations of different profiles and destinations.

Key Moscow Russian and American Speakers:

 

Anna Gorizontova
 studied History at Lomonosov Moscow State  University (graduated in 1984) and did postgraduate studies at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences (1989). Anna did her PhD in History in 1990 and authored more than 40 works on the history of Central and Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages.

In 1997 Anna Gorizontova joined the head office of Pearson Longman Publishing House in Russia and went on to become its regional executive officer in 2000 where she worked successfully until 2008. In 2011–2018 Anna worked as Cambridge
Assessment English Regional Manager: Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In April 2018 she became deputy CEO of language. Prosveshcheniye Ltd, a company founded by the Prosveshcheniye Publishing House to implement joint projects with the Pearson international educational corporation.

Johanna Campbell is an English language teacher, trainer and curriculum developer with extensive field experience across the US and overseas.
Her expertise includes teaching intensive academic English with top-tier American universities (7 years), language program instruction and administration in US-based colleges in the Middle East (2 years), training, tutoring, writing center coaching, and presenting at myriad professional engagements (14 years). She has spoken on such varied
topics as cultural influence on English teaching and learning, civic resource use to generate language production, and student learning beyond the classroom. Her research interests include how culture shapes language, learner-centered oral fluency skills, and sociolinguistics.
She has traveled, lived and taught in the central and southern United States, across Western Europe, and in the Gulf region. She holds an MA in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Houston. Currently, she is serving as an English Language Fellow in Moscow, Russia.
