Empowering Your Writing in English: Academic vs. General

AWUC offers online course “Empowering Your Writing in English: Academic vs. General”. The course is developed by Academic Writing Center (Higher School of Economics).

This online course shall contribute to the enhancement of academic writing competences aiming to raise the quality of academic texts and publications. Participants will learn the key features of writing for academic purposes, how academic texts differ from the texts written for general purposes; they will extend their repertoire of techniques allowing to write various texts for different purposes. By the end of the course they will have written their own academic text sample of a relevant type and genre, including a research paper meant for international publication.

Tutor: Irina Titarenko

Irina holds MA degree in Applied Linguistics for ELT (MAELT) from Lancaster University, UK, 2000 and Cambridge language certificate C2 (native/near native speaker). She is certified to teach English for Academic purposes by Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE, UK, 2014) and a certified trainer in the Content and Language Integrated Learning approach (CLIL, British Council, 2012).
