What should you do if you come across scientific misconduct and breach of publishing ethics?
Scientific truth is the foundation of scientific advancement. While reviewers are not primarily responsible for detecting plagiarism, fraud and other ethics issues, in practice they often pick them up. Jaap van Harten explains what you as a reviewer should do if you come across scientific misconduct and breach of publishing ethics. But also, as a reviewer, there are certain ‘rules’ you should adhere to when conducting a review.
